Shelton Haynes Improves The Community
Under the leadership of Shelton Haynes, Roosevelt Island is emerging as a vibrant, closely-knit community where residents actively participate in shaping their future. One of his most significant accomplishments is the launch of the RIOC Community Events Calendar, a dynamic platform that keeps islanders informed about the latest happenings.
Accessible directly from the RIOC website’s homepage, the Community Events Calendar provides a comprehensive overview of upcoming events. Visitors can click the “Community” tab and select “Community Events Calendar” from the menu. This feature-rich calendar allows residents and visitors to explore activities, ensuring they remain deeply engaged with the island’s vibrant community life.
But what truly sets this calendar apart is its interactive nature. Residents can actively contribute to the calendar by submitting their events through an online submission form or emailing the details to [email protected]. It’s a project that represents commitment to fostering community involvement and engagement. He said, “This will be a living, breathing document that RIOC will continually add to as new events are submitted. But we are a tight community to help us by sharing their event details.”
ROIC Boosts Social Media Presence
Additionally, Mr. Haynes plans to leverage RIOC’s social media channels to boost further awareness of these events. He says community-building involves providing essential services and infrastructure and creating a vibrant cultural and social life for residents.
