Top Venues that are Famous for Live Music in Denver

One of the best-kept secrets about Denver is that it’s a music city. This fact gets lost in the fact that it’s in the Rockies, a major tourist destination for all seasons with 300 days of sunshine, and that weed is now legal. Denver is more than just snow and pot shops, though. Our fair city has some of the best bands and artists, as well as world-class venues. Some of the popular venues that are known for live music in Denver are mentioned below!

The Red Rocks Amphitheater

Since its first official show in 1906, it has come a long way. The Red Rocks Amphitheater is now a place where music fans and artists from all over the world go to see shows. This is because of the sound and stage, as well as the views of the city. The Beatles and Stevie Nicks have played at Red Rocks, and local bands still play there every year.

The Paramount Theater

The Paramount Theater in downtown Denver used to be a movie theater in the 1930s. It is now on the National Register of Historic Places. But the place feels old like it would have been there during Denver’s Wild West days. This makes most shows feel even cooler.

The Mission Ballroom

All of the murals inside the building were made by artists from the state, and all of the food and drinks were also made in the state. Oh, and I guess the modern sound, expanding stage, and huge disco ball are pretty cool, too.

Fillmore Auditorium

The Fillmore has a great atmosphere and is ready to host big upcoming events in Denver. In fact, until 2019, it was the biggest indoor venue in the state. It opened in 1907 as a roller rink, and it still has roller derby matches from time to time. Now, it has acts from all over the world, from hip-hop to metal.

The Gothic Theater

The Gothic Theater is a real work of art. The building was made in the 1920s, and the Art Deco style makes every show even more special. Even when it was fixed up in 1988, it kept its original grandeur by getting a new balcony that went all the way around. There might be some high-energy punk shows mixed in with dreamy acts.

The Ogden Theater

In the past, Harry Houdini used to perform here. The Rocky Horror Picture Show could be on every weekend. Now, the Ogden is where you can see acts right before they go out of business.

Fiddler’s Green

Colorado has more than 300 sunny days a year, so we love to listen to music outside. Fiddler’s Green stepped up in 1988 to make sure we never went without. It can hold up to 18,000 people, which includes assigned seats and a grassy area. It’s always ready for summer.

Not to mention all the other bands that play in town and end up being influenced by the Bluebird’s history. There’s something magical about the venue and each show that’s played there.

Summit Hall of Music

The cool thing about Summit is that there are basically two stages in the building. Moon Room, which has smaller shows, is upfront. The venue is mostly a punk and metal bar, but it also has hip-hop, soul, and pizza. A safe place in Denver’s downtown area.
